As is known, Dyson comes out once in a while with a new model of cordless vacuum cleaners. For example, the Dyson V15 was recently introduced, as a successor to the popular Dyson V12.

Dyson V12 Detect Slim Absolute

This sleek and lightweight laser-illuminated model is like a cross between last year's powerful V11 Absolute and the laser-assisted flagship V15 Detect. It has a smaller dust container and less powerful engine than the V15, but it is also easier to maneuver and retains many of the other high-tech features. And it's more affordable - €100 less than Dyson's V15 Detect Absolute for €549.99.
If you want the best of the V15, but in a slimmer form, the V12 Slim Detect is a capable stick vacuum that does everything you ask of it.

Cleaning features

A great feature of the V12 is that it uses an on/off button instead of the trigger often used on Dyson stick vacuums. The suction is excellent - like a revved up V11 - and it's reactive so that it automatically increases when the piezo sensor encounters areas of more dirt.

Battery Life Dyson V12

How long can you vacuum with a fully charged battery of the Dyson V12? The battery lasts up to 60 minutes in eco mode; this decreases when you switch to medium or turbo mode. It takes approximately 4.5 hours to charge the removable battery from empty to full.

The V12 Detect Slim Absolute has both the digital display and the Laser Slim Fluffy hard floor head found on the V15 flagship.

The V12 also includes the High Torque go-anywhere cleaning head and the new Anti-tangle Hair Screw Tool, which sucks up pet and human hair without getting tangled.

Dyson Omni-glide

The Omni-glide is the most compact and lightweight Dyson vacuum cleaner we've ever tested. It's also one of the most affordable at €399.99. There are no lasers or digital displays here, but it's the perfect cordless handheld vacuum for anyone who lives in an apartment or whose house is full of hard floors.
However, the Omni-glide is not suitable for a fully carpeted home, but it can remove some dust and grime on carpet if you have a clutter that needs to be removed quickly.

Cleaning power

The best new feature is the omnidirectional lint head that has been specially developed for hard floors. It's built to allow the head to move quickly where you want it, perfect for tight spaces, side cleaning and maneuvering around furniture. The double brush rollers are driven by a motor with a double epicyclic gearbox. This makes the brush bars rotate at the same speed so that cleaning can be done in both directions.
And the suction power is excellent as you would expect from any Dyson vacuum cleaner.
There is a simple on/off button in place of the trigger used on some other models. A second button increases the power from Eco to Max mode.

Lightweight and portability

It's hard not to love the Omni-glide's small and compact frame. This is made possible by a new design where the motor, handle and stem are placed in a more linear construction. Its design makes it very easy to clean higher areas as well as laying it flat on the floor so you can push it under furniture without having to move anything.

The battery lasts about 20 minutes in Eco mode. The device runs on replaceable batteries, so you can buy a second battery to have on hand.

Accessories

In the box, Dyson has a combination crevice tool, worktop cleaner for cleaning surfaces and a motorized mini attachment that is ideal for the stairs and the sofa. The device comes with a charging wall dock that you can screw on or attach with adhesive pads - I used the latter because it was so quick and easy.

Filters

As with all Dyson machines, the filtration technology is excellent. Omni-glide captures 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns for cleaner air.

Other functions

Emptying the 0.3 liter container is easy. Point the vacuum cleaner at the container and slide the eject lever forward. He throws everything in the garbage without a big cloud of dust.

Cleaning power

The suction power of the 14 cyclones is excellent - thanks to the maximum power of 230AW. V15 Detect includes the beastly High Torque cleaning head for everything but hard floors. In automatic mode, the suction power is automatically increased based on the amount of dirt detected with the piezo sensor mentioned above.

The glowing green laser illuminates your surfaces to highlight any dust or dirt you may have missed. And it's tilted so that you don't have to constantly move the vacuum cleaner up and down to see these particles. This makes cleaning both easy and accurate. The digital display provides a graphical representation of everything the vacuum cleaner picks up. This is thanks to a piezo sensor; more on that below.

How long can you vacuum with a fully charged battery of the Dyson V15? The battery lasts up to 60 minutes in eco mode; this will decrease if you switch to boost mode or if you use one of the motorized heads.
It takes about 4.5 hours to charge the battery from empty to full.
The battery is removable so you can buy an extra power pack from Dyson and keep it fully charged to swap out when needed. But with one battery charge, you can easily completely clean the average three-bedroom house.

Filters

Filtration is one of the company's specialties and here it has been improved so that 99.9 percent of the particles are removed and captured by a washable HEPA filter.

Accessories for the Dyson V15 detect complete

You get an anti-tangle Hair Screw Tool, which picks up pet and human hair without getting tangled, a standard crevice tool, a crevice tool with LED lights, a combi nozzle for dusting and surface cleaning and a brush for stubborn dirt with stiff bristles. There is a docking station and storage clip for neatly storing the vacuum cleaner and some of your most used tools.

Dyson V10 (extra)

Specifications and features

With the release of the Dyson V10 in 2018, Dyson announced that they would no longer produce new corded vacuum cleaners, but would put all their resources into their cordless range. This is a move that looks like it has paid off, with the V10 much improved over its predecessor. For starters, the battery life is 50% longer than the V8, giving you about 60 minutes of vacuuming time on a full charge. There are three different power settings on the Dyson V10 and you get 60 minutes of cleaning time on the low setting, 30 minutes on the medium setting, while the MAX setting only gives you about 10 minutes. The MAX setting gives you a whopping 151 Air Watts of power, and should only be used in extremely messy situations. The run time decreases when the motorized cleaning head is attached.
Other improvements include a larger dust container, a washable HEPA filter and a streamlined design that provides better suction. With the release of the V11, the price of the V10 has dropped, so now is a great time to get all of Dyson's power and technology at a more affordable price.
